I enjoyed working for UHC. I relocated to another state however, and the assistance to transfer to another position that I qualified for was minimal to none. The benefits are decent, which include Bravos, which are points to obtain gift cards or purchase items from their internal store. There is not a work and balance life as your having to work overtime or on your time to meet deadlines and your review is dependent on you meeting those deadlines. The great thing about working at UHC was that I worked remotely and could work at any hour of the day. My manager and team were great, very helpful and knowledgeable in the LTC Medicaid program.
Pros
Bravos, great team environment
Cons
Fair benefits, work long hours, transfer to another position is hard

Housecalls allow the NP to learn more about the member and their life. I was able to see how they live, do a better assessment and exam, and really educate. However, I miss being able to see the member more than just that one time.

I can't say enough about UHC, this company puts its employees first and cares about your career. They offer continuing education and support. I had to leave for other reasons aside from the company values.
Pros
Great remote work!
Cons
Must be willing to have perfect statistics

Moved up from customer service to associate business analyst. Great company to work for, but unfortunately I fear of potential layoffs. I just try not to think about it too hard since those decisions are above my head. Other than that, great company to work for

UHG offers flexible work hours/work week, good benefits and pay, and opportunities to work from home.

The best part of your work day is knowing you helped a member to resolve issues with their enrollment, billing, or account issues.

I enjoyed working here until I was laid off. Management was great in my dept,, but I have heard otherwise in some other departments. Working from home is a perk.

the responsibilities are heaped and heaped upon advocates and the pay is a little more than a fast food worker. There seems to be no end to the added responsibilities. Raises are in increments of like 30 cents. You are holding your breath all the tine because you are micromanaged and the only thing that matters is metrics.

Hello. Since you are a current employee I recommend having an open discussion with your manager regarding pay and discuss your concerns on what is and isn't working. There are also employee resources internally that are available to you online and over the phone that I also recommend that you take advantage of. - Tori

Decent starting pay, negative atmosphere, most workers were nice, but there were a few cutthroats. Most work was for Northwell Hospitals. The server is not capable of handling the number of workers, and as a result, you constantly have to reload software,. Some of the software was overly complicated, increasing the opportunity to make an error. The doctor's software needed over 20 steps to set up a payment plan, if the patient had many doctor's bills you could spend a long time working on just one patient. Uneven training, they didn't even give me the right number to call in sick. Unneeded stress.
Pros
Respectable starting pay
Cons
Negative atmosphere

UHG is a large organization and I've worked with many departments on different projects and no two function exactly the same. People are different and have varying opinions. UHG pushes culture and values heavy and I can honestly say they inspire me every day to work with compassion and understanding and with the patient in mind.

Overall management worked to assist the worker with succeeding at their job. Unfortunately the position of member advocate has a very high learning curve. Resources are abundant but not easy to use. What you will learn is valuable and you will carry with you for life.
Pros
Ample work space that is updated. Coffeed, tea, hot chocolate and ice provided.
Cons
The location in Dublin, Ohio has few ways to get to it and the highway traffic can be difficult to deal with

Worked here for 10 years. Loved working what I have been doing. Job security is always been an issue as they lay off more often. Every thing was going good and one day in the morning I got news that I got laid off ??.

Working at UHC was definitely an experience it was time consuming and very difficult to work at home. They keep adding on work but don’t know how to communicate with each other on how they want us to get the work done

Colleagues were great, it was fantastic working from home and their tech support is outstanding. They are very organized and overall the work is very interesting and rewarding. The problem is that 8 to 9 months after I started they has massive layoffs starting at Thanksgiving through Christmas of 2019. About 2,000 people were let go. I loved the Department I was hired for and my Manager was absolutely Awesome! I would have been perfectly happy staying there forever, however, due to the layoffs I was moved to another department. There, I had to be retrained to an entirely new and more complex process. I found the work interesting, the trainers to be great but the Manager micro managed and only looked for mistakes. She put undue pressure and stress for speed and to make quotas! The training in that area which for was a more complex process than the prior position, was not long enough to help you get up to speed. My first Manager was everything a Manager should be and more, supportive, knowledgeable, and more. The second Manager was harsh, difficult to talk to and demeaning.
