The interview process is an all day event. First you go in for a computer test. If you pass the computer portion, you go back, sit and wait to be called for your 1st interview. After the interview, you do role playing where you are placed in a room with paperwork to read over and a phone. You start getting phone calls and have to role play displaying your customer service skills. If you pass that portion, you go back out, sit and wait to go do shadowing for what seemed like an hour to me. Once you're done shadowing, you interview with the hiring manger and they will ask questions about what you remember or learned from shadowing. The hiring manager will then let you know if you are hired or not. Once hired, I had to go to health services for my drug test, which they take a hair sample (& not a small hair sample either). My appt for testing was at 8, I didn't leave that day until after 4.
How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at GEICO? What are the steps along the way?
Just depends on when the next class starts. I was hired on May 3 drug, background and credit check came back May 13, next class doesn’t start til June 10th so about 10 days
If anyone can please let me know about the multitasking test and computer test please tell me. I have one coming up and I have seen more negative comments than positive
It was very difficult due to multiple calls and information to be put in the screen. When I added information on the tab indicating what the customer needed then went back it disappeared.......
Not a stable system for sure when testing.
I have an upcoming interview for Geico - sales rep. position. I've noticed in the company videos that there don't seem to be any people working in the offices who are older than about 30 or so. This is what I find far more negative than even the bad reviews employees have posted. I don't think being older is an advantage with this company. Certainly not if you're trying to get hired. Should I even bother wasting my time on the interviews... would they even hire someone in their late 50's?
If you can even get passed the over 40 questions on thier online evaluation, which is obviously a way to filter out thier apparent bias. Totally disappointed on thier hiring practices, especially for a company that grew from supporting government workers.
If you’re cool with management, then you’ve got it made. If you have even the smallest difference of opinion on something, you’re viewed as the black sheep and get treated poorly. Coaches are usually cool and upbeat, but even they play favorites. You’re treated as a number, not a human.
Does geico hire people with no experience working with insurance? I only have medical experience and Im ready for a career change immediately! I would love to try something different like working for geico. Can someone please answer my question? Thanks!
Yes! They will train you on everything you need to know and get your insurance license. If you have a great attitude you will go far!
