This was my favorite job I've had. The employees, managers and customers are always so great to be around. They allow you to be the best you can be and they also push you to become better than your best.

Terrible place to work. Didn't enjoy it at all. They smile to your face and stab you in the back. I wouldn't recommend working there to my worst enemy.

Unfortunately, several negatives come to mind about working for this company. Virtually all of them center around Aldi's one biggest weakness as a company which it has failed to address.... for years and years: its highly stressful and just downright silly checkout process. As an employee, working on the cash register at Aldi is a monstrosity of a nightmare! It's dumb, it's inefficient, and just downright ridiculous if you want my brutally honest assessment of the situation. Because when you are assigned 'main cashier' duty at Aldi, you are basically required (and expected) to chuck, toss, slam, throw.... any way you can do it, other people's groceries.... which they just bought with their own money...... into the next shopping cart. Management doesn't care if you break or damage items in the process, as long as you keep that line moving at all costs! I literally have had customers scream at me in one ear for scanning way too fast during the checkout process and accidentally damaging their stuff as a result, simply because I'm literally scanning as fast as I can, only for management to then scream in my other ear (literally) about not ringing fast enough and not moving the line along fast enough. This "speedy" check-out process has been a systemic problem at this company for years, yet nothing is ever done to address the situation!! I've worked for this company for a very long time, and have worked in enough of their stores to tell you firsthand that it's a systemic problem everywhere! The company is essentially trying to squeeze the cashiering work of at least 3 or 4 separate?-?more...
Cons
The check-out process at this company is unnecessarily stressful.

Aldi is a great place to work. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. Working there has taught me time management skills as well as customer service skills. It can be physically demanding but seeing your usual customers and the relationships you build with them and the team are the most rewarding part of the job. There is also plenty of room for advancement as well.

If you don't work well under pressure this job is not for you. Showed up everyday and was pushed to keep moving faster and faster even though I was going as fast as humanly possible and was even threatened to be let go at one point because I was not moving at the speed they wanted. Most people were nice, a few were nasty. Will never work for them again. If you work well under a ridiculous amount of pressure, this is a job for you.

Working at ALDI is a good job for someone who has the time to have irregular hours. It is not a 9-5 place due to low employment numbers. Each shift carries its own unique challenges that you directly may have to deal with because others are not available to help. The workplace environment is friendly and encouraging as everyone has typically been through your shoes before during their time of employment. This job is good for young adults who are able to work the unstable hours and make an above average wage for most grocery stores.

WHAT IT WAS LIKE WORKING @ALDI:

When I worked at Aldi (Wausau, Wi), everyone was nice at first. But then their true colors started showing the longer i was there. Managment and Associates talk to customers like they're dum. I've witnessed them YELL at customers..Management is unproffesional there. a few associates there got yelled at, including me in front of everyone in the store. All I did was simply ask a question because i didnt understand something. I I brought it up to the store manager and other shift managers there, but they all said "thats just how she is.That is NO excuse and is unacceptable. The hours are TERRIBLE there... you will work a 1-9 shift and have to come in the very next morning at 5am!! This place was so exhausting! With the hours and the back breaking work that had to be done. You have no life there. You go home and have no energy. Associates there made me feel awful ! I've told managers there, but they did NOTHING. Working there is like running around like a chicken with its head cut off. They expect you to do these online modules too. But there was never anytime to do them. No one did there jobs right either. No one ever checks the dates on products there. Not to mention, no one ever checks produce there either. I would never buy my produce from there. Working there was just a nightmare... I would never ever go back. I was never happy.. but I kept giving it chance after chance.. they would all talk smack about you too. You are underpaid. What.. like 12.35 to be yelled and belittled.. the amount of work there is unacceptable. You are

It was clear during orientation that Aldi's higher-ups were very enthusiastic and wanted everyone in the company to succeed. However, at the store level, daily management did not have the same attitude. Though it was not difficult to adjust to, it was disappointing and did eventually lead to my leaving of the company. However, the job itself was very fast pace and goal-oriented. The pay certainly lived up to its hype as well.

Mooresville Manager is by far the worst boss, manager and or team player. Sneaky and conniving. Not sure how she is still in charge. Long history of getting rid of good workers.
Pros
Great benefits!
Cons
Super physical, high expectations, not appreciated

The job is okay, but that particular store was VERY cliquey and “hazed” the new people by keeping them on the register for a whole entire shift. The idea of Aldi is to have one or two main cashiers and a few others on the floor as backup to come help. The back up usually has an attitude about coming up to the registers. The management was horrible, instead of talking to us like adults, the manager would leave notes expecting us to read and fix it.

I started out as a cashier and worked my way up to shift manager. It was a very high stress environment, as there are only 3-4 employees in the store at any given time. A great place to work if you enjoy staying busy and active.

You over exercise your body at this place overall bad for your health adding the stress on top of it. You can never do enough for this company. Upper management is corrupt. No room for advancement.

It's a job for those who don't have outside ties/obligations. The pay is awesome, but there's not much flexibility with scheduling. It's a very demanding job.

Do not trust what they say.I worked there as sanitation for 2 years.I would recommend not working here. They play favorites. They talk behind your back.I had to fight for 2 years.Be for i was tired of the BS i had to go through. They physically break you down. For the amount of work they put you through it's not worth the 17 dollars an hour you start at.And oh if they hire you.You might be working through a third party.Reason being if they don't like you. They can get rid of you the same day. There hire rate is ridiculous.

There is opportunity for growth, you use your own initiative at work not a bossy place. No specific job role as you are required to do all.
Friendly staff.
